CRS to hold statutory inquiry into Tatanagar–Ernakulam Express fire at Vijayawada on December 31, January 1

The Commissioner of Railway Safety has ordered a statutory inquiry into the fire accident involving Train No. 18189 Tatanagar–Ernakulam Express at Yelamanchili Railway Station, which occurred at around 12.50 a.m. in the early hours of Monday, December 29.

Ms. Madhavi, Commissioner of Railway Safety, South Central Circle, Secunderabad, will conduct the statutory inquiry on December 31 and January 1 at the Electric Traction Training Centre at Vijayawada.

Members of the public having information relating to the incident or matters connected with it may appear before the inquiry at the venue on the scheduled dates or submit their representations in writing to the Commissioner of Railway Safety, South Central Circle, Rail Nirman Bhavan, opposite Rail Nilayam, Sarojini Devi Road, Secunderabad 500 025.
