The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has urged employers in Coimbatore and the Nilgiris districts to make use of the “Employees Enrolment Campaign” that took off on November 1.
Prasant K., the regional Provident Fund commissioner – I, told presspersons in Coimbatore on Wednesday that all establishments, irrespective of their eligibility to participate in the EPF, can enrol their employees for PF till April 30, 2026. If an employee joined an establishment between July 1, 2017 and October 31, 2025, and is not enrolled with the EPFO, the employer can do so now by filing a declaration online.
The employer should deposit the management’s share of PF with interest and administrative charges and should declare all the employees not covered so far at the same time.
The employers can benefit from the Prime Minister Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana where the government pays the employer an incentive for new enrolments from August 1 this year.
Mr. Prasant said 2,400 establishments covering 15,421 employees have registered in the two districts for the PM VBRY scheme. Coimbatore region has 7,987 establishments registered with the EPFO and there are nine lakh subscribers in the two districts. They are employed at plantations, textile and engineering industries, retail outlets, and educational institutions too, he said.
