Five persons were arrested and drugs, ganja and non-duty paid liquor bottles were seized in a series of enforcement operations conducted by excise officials across parts of Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts.
In the first case, following a tip off that drugs were being transported from Bengaluru to Hyderabad, the State Task Force (STF)-B team carried out vehicle checks near Shamshabad. A cab arriving from Shamshabad airport was stopped and searched, leading to seizure of 5.39 grams of MDMA, six non-duty paid liquor bottles and three mobile phones.
The accused, identified as Sai Charan, was taken into custody and handed over to the Shamshabad Excise Station along with the seized material.
In another major seizure, STF teams seized 6.3 kilograms of ganja being smuggled from Odisha during a raid near Raghavendra Bhavan in HUDA Colony, within the limits of Saroornagar Excise Station.
Three persons from Odisha, identified as Behan Dure, Jagannath Dal and Saroj Jalari, were arrested. They were produced before the Saroornagar Excise Station along with the contraband for further legal action.

In a separate operation, Shamshabad District Task Force (DTF) personnel conducted a raid in Ramguda and seized 1.3 kg of ganja from a man identified as Dilip Koche, a resident of Assam. The accused and the seized ganja were handed over to the Serilingampally Excise Station for further investigation.
Meanwhile, during vehicle checks, the officials seized 64 non-duty paid liquor bottles that were being transported to Hyderabad from various locations. The seized liquor was handed over to the Rangareddy enforcement team with the assistance of the Maheshwaram and Meerpet police. Investigations are underway in all the cases.
