A question paper leak during the ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination triggered concerns in Nizamabad district on Wednesday.
The second language paper which began at 9.30 a.m. was reportedly circulated on social media even as the test was in progress. Reportedly, some officials identified the paper on a social media application at around 12 noon, and they were traced to examination centres at Zilla Parishad High School at Aloor (Armur mandal) and Mendora mandal.
Preliminary investigation showed that some teachers were allegedly involved in the malpractice – shared the question paper with external contacts to obtain answers to benefit a few students. It was said that the motive of financial transactions was not linked to the incident.
The District Education Office initially suspended seven teachers, including two headmasters, three school assistants, and two secondary grade teachers. Two of the teachers from the Bodhan examination centre were later found not involved, and their suspension was revoked.
The officials were booked under provisions of the Telangana Public Examinations (Prevention of Malpractice) Act, 1997.
