Four injured in electric mishap during Ganesha idol procession in Virajpet

Four persons were injured in an electric mishap during Ganesha idol immersion procession in Virajpet in Kodagu district in the wee hours of Saturday.

Superintendent of Kodagu district police R. Bindu Mani said two out of the four persons injured in the “short circuit” incident are “grievously” hurt.

The mishap took place when people atop a vehicle carrying a sound system that was accompanying the procession reportedly came close to the overhead electricity cables.

While three persons injured in the mishap are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Madikeri, one person has been shifted to a hospital in Mysuru.
