M. Maheshwar Rao, Chief Commissioner of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), instructed officials to prepare a blueprint for the construction of an additional flyover near Iblur Junction on the Outer Ring Road.
He said that constructing an additional flyover at the junction would significantly reduce traffic congestion.
An approximately 800-metre-long flyover is required at the Iblur Junction, Mr. Rao said.
“In coordination with the South City Corporation and BMRCL, steps should be taken for the comprehensive development of the Silk Board Junction, implementation of precautionary measures to prevent flooding, and other related works,” he said.
The Chief Commissioner said that roads beneath metro stations along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) are uneven and that, due to pile cap works, road width is gradually reducing, which could lead to increased congestion. He instructed officials to inspect all the metro stations along the ORR and immediately rectify any issues found.
As the metro-related footpath and other works are already under way in certain sections, officials were instructed to execute the works in coordination with the B-SMILE, strictly adhering to the approved comprehensive development plan.
