Injured elephant calf’s movements being monitored
Movement of an elephant calf found with injuries in Madukkarai range is being monitored by a Forest Department team. The elephant calf was found limping with bite marks in its legs and bodies, which the Forest officials suspected, were caused by a leopard or a tiger. The calf was among a herd that had apparently crossed from the Kerala side to drink water from the Chinnampathy river on Friday afternoon.
