Public holiday declared in Madurantakam, Dharapuram on October 6 for bypolls

The Tamil Nadu government has declared a public holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, in the areas that fall under the Madurantakam and Dharapuram Assembly constituencies on October 6, the day of polling for the byelections.

According to an official order, all employees working in Chengalpattu and Tiruppur districts and neighbouring districts but registered as voters in the Madurantakam and Dharapuram Assembly constituencies should be given a paid holiday on the day of polling.

All government offices, including industrial establishments of the government and government-controlled bodies, and all educational institutions throughout the areas in these two Assembly constituencies will remain closed on the polling day, the order added.
