Hotels hike prices of food articles in Mangaluru

With the increase in the price of commercial gas cylinder to over ₹3,000, hotels and eatery joints in Mangaluru have increased prices of food articles up to 15% from Sunday.

“We were forced to increase the price of food items between 10-15% from today,” Kudpi Jagadish Shenoy, President of Dakshina Kannada Hotel Owners’ Association, told The Hindu. Mr. Shenoy runs two Taj Mahal Hotels in the city — one at Hampankatta and another at Navbharath Circle.
