The Tripura Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Ratan Lal Nath on Saturday (May 2, 2026) confirmed the severe impact of incessant rain on agriculture and horticulture in the State, stressing on risks, including waterlogging, flooding, soil erosion, and crop damage, particularly in low-lying areas.
From April 27 to 29, Tripura experienced average rainfall of 133.9 mm; Kamalpur subdivision in Dhalai district recorded the highest rainfall of 283 mm.
