Jaishankar meets Rubio, conveys India’s concerns on Sanctioning ​Russia ‌and Iran Act

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, on Wednesday (September 23, 2026), conveyed India’s concerns about the Sanctioning ​Russia ‌and Iran Act, during his meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly high-level week.

Mr. Jaishankar said that he discussed the situations in the West Asia and Ukraine with Mr. Rubio.

“Good to meet @SecRubio of the US #UNHighLevelWeek. Reiterated India’s interests and concerns with regard to SRIA. Also discussed the Gulf and Ukraine situations,” Mr. Jaishankar said in a post on X.

Meanwhile, Mr. Rubio, in a post on X, said, “Great to meet with Indian External Affairs Minister @DrSJaishankar in New York today. Together, we are building on the U.S.-India strategic partnership and coordinating on key regional priorities and upcoming multilateral efforts.”
