Six new classrooms were inaugurated at the Kammampalli Government High School, on Wednesday (October 7, 2026), under the aegis of the Krishnagiri district administration. The classroom building was funded by the Tamil Nadu Firecracker Traders Association and the Parent Teachers’ Association (PTA) of the school.

Kammampalli Govenrment High school has over 457 students pursuing English-medium education. Inaugurating the classrooms, Collector C. Dinesh Kumar said the school’s PTA had long demanded for a new classroom block and also to assign the school as examination centre.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said the Tamil Nadu Firecracker Traders Association has consistently contributed through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for schools. Earlier, the association funded facilities for the school for the mentally challenged at Bargur.

The new classroom complex was constructed at a cost of ₹59 lakh, of which ₹9 lakh was funded by the school’s PTA. Lauding the participatory approach, the Collector said a shared goal will help accomplish results, and added that measures were being taken to upgrade the school to a higher secondary school.
