Konaseema police tasked with locating land for national leaders’ statues

Eluru Range Inspector General of Police G.V.G. Ashok Kumar on Wednesday directed Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema Superintendent of Police Rahul Meena to coordinate with the district officials to identify suitable land for the erection of statues of national leaders in the district.

It is learnt that there are scores of proposals from locals to erect statues of Dr B.R. Ambedkar in the district, and they are being reviewed by officials, including those in the police department.

Addressing the police officials and Dr B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema District Collector R. Mahesh Kumar during the half-year crime review meeting virtually, Mr. Kumar also advocated that they constitute village-level coordination committees to prevent clashes on the basis of communities and religions in the district.

Mr. Meena was also directed to prepare an action plan to monitor the social media groups and situation on the ground ahead of local body elections.
