Southern Railway will introduce LHB coaches in two express trains that would enhance safety and ensure a comfortable journey for passengers.
A statement said that Train No. 22661/22662 Chennai Egmore – Rameswaram – Chennai Egmore Sethu Superfast Express will run with LHB coaches from Chennai Egmore with effect from October 22 and from Rameswaram with effect from October 19.
Train No. 20605/20606 Chennai Egmore – Tiruchendur – Chennai Egmore Chendur superfast express will run with LHB coaches from Chennai Egmore with effect from October 20 and from Tiruchendur with effect from October 21.
Consequent to the conversion into LHB coaches, the composition for the above train services would be revised as one AC first class coach, two AC 2-tier coaches, three AC 3-tier coaches, nine sleeper class coaches, four general second class coaches, one second class coach (for differently-abled) and one luggage-cum-brake van.
