Unsafe speed breakers ( With photo)

Unmarked and unpainted speed breakers of varying shapes and sizes pose a serious road safety threat across Madurai city. None of the speed breakers carry proper reflective paint markings or warning signs. As a result, several vehicle users have met with accidents while travelling on these stretches. Most vehicle users are unable to notice these speed breakers during night time/hours and in the rainy season. Beyond accidents, poorly designed or unmarked speed breakers can cause spinal injuries and severe back pain. I request the authorities concerned to take corrective measures at the earliest.

Social media to cover positive side

Today, our society is plagued by pessimism, and people are startled at the drop of a hat. May be this attitude has happened because of the negative outlook created by social media. It is the responsibility of the YouTubers to shed some light on the optimistic side of the events and situation which they portray.

Unruly share-autos need regulations

Till a few years ago, the Madurai city traffic police officers would invite auto rickshaw drivers to a private kalyana mandapams and interact with them about the need to obey traffic rules and not to indulge in violations. The auto drivers would also express their difficulties. At the end, there was a friendly exchange between them which helped the custodians of law in enforcing the rules smoothly. Of late, such interactions appear to have become very rare and even if they are organised, the media is also not publishing such events. May I request the Commissioner of Police and the Superintendent of Police (Madurai) to organise such interaction with various stakeholders and periodic intervals so that the city would be able to overcome challenges in a professional way.
