Municipal assistant dismissed from service with only two days left for retirement

A Keelakarai Municipality Assistant was dismissed from service just two days before his retirement after it was learned that he had joined the job using a fake certificate.

According to sources, Iyyappan served as an Assistant at the Keelakarai Municipal Office in Ramanathapuram district. He was scheduled to retire on March 31.

When he joined the service, he had submitted a certificate stating that he studied eighth grade at the Panchayat Union Primary School in Bramanakkurichi, Ilayangudi, Sivaganga district.
