Karkala Rural Police have booked Suneel, a resident of Nooralbettu, for the offence of murdering his wife on Monday.

The Karkala Rural Police on Monday booked Suneel, 44, resident of Nooralbettu, Karkala taluk, for the offence of murdering his wife Geetha.
The police had initially booked a case of attempt to murder on January 27 after Suneel allegedly inflicted serious injuries on Geetha following a quarrel. He was arrested, and a court had sent the accused to judicial custody.
Geetha, who was undergoing treatment for injuries on her head and chest at a private hospital in Mangaluru, succumbed on February 2, prompting the police to convert the case into that of murder, said a communique from Udupi district police.
