Railways to prepare reservation charts 10 hours in advance

The Indian Railways has decided to prepare the reservation charts 10 hours before the scheduled departure of the train from the charting station.

“This helps in informing the passengers from remote locations and long distances about their reservation status and relieve them of anxiety,” South Central Railway (SCR) Chief Public Relations Officer A. Sridhar said in a release.

For trains that depart between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m, the reservation charts would be prepared by 8 p.m. the previous day. For trains that depart between 2 p.m. and 11.59 p.m. and between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m., the reservation charts would be prepared preferably at least 10 hours in advance, Mr. Sridhar said.
