‘#ReclaimConstitution’ to organise rare philatelic exhibition on Republic Day

Citizens’ collective #ReclaimConstitution will organise a first-of-its-kind philatelic exhibition titled “Makers of Our Constitution” on Republic Day at Sabha Blr on Kamaraj Road.

The exhibition is a curation of rare postal stamps, covers, cancellations, and archival materials, which showcases both prominent and lesser-known members of the Constituent Assembly who shaped the Constitution of India.

“Through these seldom-seen artefacts, the exhibition narrates the collective effort behind the making of our Constitution and documents the renewed public engagement and growing enthusiasm for constitutional values in recent years, offering visitors a distinctive experience,” said a statement from the organisers.

Grand Finale of Constitution Quiz

The exhibition, which will be held between 1-6pm on January 26, is being organised as part of the Grand Finale of the nationwide #ReclaimConstitution Quiz.

The quiz, aimed at deepening constitutional awareness among students, culminates after a closely contested preliminary round which saw participation from over 1,600 students from more than 200 schools across 20 States and 5 Union Territories.

The finalist teams represent six states and regions: Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT Guwahati; Jyoti Public School, Lahli, Haryana; Sudarshan Vidya Mandir, Bengaluru; Carmel School (Steel), Durgapur; Shri Ram Centennial School, Patna; and Carmel Higher Secondary School, Goa.

Pocket edition of Constitution to be released

The event will feature an eminent panel of Guests of Honour, including Justice Abhay Oka (former Judge – Supreme Court of India), Magsasay awardees Aruna Roy & P Sainath, Chiranjiv Singh (former ambassador to UNESCO), and Ashwini KP (Special rapporteur to the United Nations).

Ahead of the start of the Grand Finale, Justice Abhay Oka will formally release a pocket edition of the Constitution of India, aimed at making the Constitution more accessible to citizens, especially young readers.
