Every student should master five skills — communication, problem solving, analytical thinking, marketing and negotiation — to get ahead in their careers, T. Dharma Theja, professor at Paari School Of Business.
Speaking at a seminar titled ‘Careers in Management, Technology and Sciences’, organised by The Hindu FIC and SRM-A.P. in collaboration with KKR & KSR Institute of Technology and Science (KITS-Guntur) on Monday (December 29) to educate students on various options at PG level, Mr. Dharma Theja said that while these skills will be taught at undergraduate level, one learns to apply them in business schools. He encouraged students to study till postgraduation to master their subjects.
Adding to that, V.V.S. Pradeep, assistant director for PG Admissions, SRM-A.P., said students should also work on improving their critical thinking abilities. KITS principal P. Babu and secretary Koya Shekar advised students to think out of the box to explore career opportunities. He added that there are many career options in addition to the IT sector. Later, students participated in a quiz and five winners were given prizes.
