Tata Communications Ltd. (TCL) launched a centre of excellence (CoE) worth Rs. 3.5 crore in cybersecurity and digital forensics at the SASTRA Deemed University, Thanjavur, on the sidelines of the institution’s graduation ceremony on Sunday.
In his convocation address, Ganesh Lakshminarayanan, managing director and chief executive officer of TCL, said: “The transformational role of artificial intelligence (AI) is still in its exploration phase and 80% of the investments made by corporates are yet to see desired returns on investment.”
The CoE is a research and capacity building facility to create focussed manpower capable of handling various levels of digital and cyber vulnerabilities.
In another graduation day address at the university, Prince Jayakumar, executive vice-president and global head of Human Resources, HCL Technologies, stressed on the role of evolutionary talent and the need to engage AI with a humanistic touch.
Both corporate leaders gave away degrees to over 1,000 School of Computing graduates of SASTRA University. Vice-Chancellor S.Vaidhyasubramaniam, spoke.
