The Madras High Court Judge, A.D. Jagadish Chandira has said that the technology should assist mankind and not diminish its dignity.
Delivering the convocation address at the PMIST at Vallam near Thanjavur, on September 19, Justice Chandira encouraged the graduates to pursue research with intellectual honesty, respect evidence, acknowledge limitations, and give credit to the work of others. At the same time, one should ensure that technology assisted the mankind and not diminish its dignity.
Women must be present as scientists, engineers architects, researchers entrepreneurs, judges educators, and leaders, Their voices must be heard in the decisions that shape the institutions and communities, he said.
A total of 1,811 graduands were awarded degrees across diverse disciplines. Of them, 1,383 were undergraduates, 410 post graduates, and 18 doctoral scholars. A total 121 meritorious and outstanding performers were credited with medals. Of them, 49 were gold, 40 silver, and 32 bronze medals.
The university has started B. Com. (Fin Tech), according to a release.
Chancellor K. Veeramani, Pro-Vice Chancellor R. Mallika, and Registrar P.K. Srividya were present.
