Telangana CM lists extent of land owned by KCR, KTR, Harish Rao and other family members

In a development with far reaching consequences, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has alleged that Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his family members amassed huge lands in the name of agitation for a separate Telangana State and after the party came to power in 2014.

What does agri land ceiling act say?

Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao and his wife own 67.13 acre land in Erravalli, Mittapalli and Shivar Venkatapur villages in Siddipet district in violation of the land ceiling acts, if the list released by the Chief Minister is any indication. The agriculture land ceiling act permits individuals to own 25 acres of wet or 50 acres of dry lands.

439.3 acres owned by KCR and his family members

BRS working president and MLA K.T. Rama Rao had possession higher than Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao’s family at 123.19 acres in villages in Siddipet and Rangareddy districts, while KCR’s daughter Kalvakuntla Kavita and her husband owned 37.26 acres. Another family member & BRS deputy floor leader T. Harish Rao and his wife were in possession of 30.16 acres. Another member Joginapalli Santosh Kumar & family owned 79.2 acres.

Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao’s relative Naveen Kumar owned 101.14 acres in Medchal-Malkajgiri, Rangareddy, Sangareddy and Siddipet districts. This takes the total land assets of the family to 439.3 acres spread over nine districts, 24 mandals and 31 villages.

Did not count assets owned by benamis: CM

“We have seen people agitating for a cause losing their everything. But one family benefitted immensely in Telangana in the name of Statehood agitation and its aftermath,” the Chief Minister said adding he was not counting the assets owned in the name of benamis.

Erravelli farm house spans over 700 acres

Mr. Revanth Reddy alleged that the farm house in Erravelli, where Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao stayed, spanned over 700 acres. Out of this, 388 acres was assignment land. “My government will inquire about the farm house land,” he averred. The government had decided to distribute those lands among 800 dalit families — some of whom beat drums near the farm house recently, as a fitting reply to the BRS leaders who cleansed the path traversed by the Dalit families.

Revenue authorities directed to serve notice on KCR

He said a fact finding team would be constituted to inquire into the issue pertaining to 388 acres of assignment land and directed the Revenue authorities to serve a notice on Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao seeking his explanation related to the issue “The fact finding team should visit the farm house and make inquiries. I will initiate action against the officials concerned if they are found guilty of negligence into the issue,” he said.

KTR’s farmhouse on Ramalinga Raju’s land attached by enforcement agencies

In another major revelation, the Chief Minister said the farm house owned by Mr. Rama Rao in Janwada was developed on the land belonging to B. Ramalinga Raju of the erstwhile Satyam Group. “The property of Satabisha, a company owned by Mr. Ramalinga Raju and attached by enforcement agencies, was transferred into Mr. Rama Rao’s name in 2015,” he alleged.

According to him, Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao’s close relative and former Minister Mr. Harish Rao was no less when it came to occupying private lands. Lands acquired from the farmers in the name of Ranganayakasagar project were later transferred to his name. “While the government paid ₹6.5 lakh an acre to affected farmers, Mr. Harish Rao got the land at ₹1.5 lakh an acre,” he said.

This apart, relatives of he family including Mr. Harish Rao’s father-in-law Hanmanth Rao too threatened people and took possession of their lands.

The Chief Minister alleged that other BRS leaders including former Ministers G. Jagdishwar Reddy, Gangula Kamalakar too acquired Inam lands worth huge amounts during the BRS regime. “The farm house of Mr. Jagdishwar Reddy spread over close to 50 acre near the international airport has 11 acres of Inam lands,” Mr. Revanth Reddy said.

Other leaders like Pilot Rohit Reddy built farm house on assignment land while Gangula Kamalakar, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, D. Sudhir Reddy purchased government lands in Maheshwaram with active support from former Minister Sabita Indra Reddy.

Noted industrialist and My Home Group head Jupalli Rameshwara Rao owned 2,463 acre land in Shamshabad. This was in addition to 8,000 acre lands transferred in the name of those close to power in Sircilla, the constituency represented by Mr. Rama Rao

“This is only part one of the revelation. Other issues will come out in due course,” the Chief Minister said.
