A three-day textile fair took off in Tiruppur on Thursday with as many as 337 participants.
Inaugurated by K.M. Subramanian, president of the Tiruppur Exporters Association, the event with about 800 stalls features four exhibitions – Yarnex, TexIndia, Apparel Sourcing Fair (ASF), and DyChem Texprocess.
From yarns and fibres to woven fabrics and accessories, the event features the entire textile supply chain. Yarnex, which was launched in Tiruppur in 2009, has different types of yarns and blends and participants include those from the northern States, Thailand, and Taiwan too.
The business-to-business event at the India KnitFair Complex caters to the needs for large and small-scale apparel manufacturers. Woven fabrics were introduced this year with exhibits of 20 companies.
Global buying houses, major international brands, and domestic brands are taking part. The exhibition is held once a year at six centres across the country.
