Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) will carry out spot-admissions on September 24 for UG programmes in the 28 affiliated private colleges, to fill vacant seats.
The process will begin at 9 a.m. at Anna Auditorium. The counselling fee will be collected only from those who secure admissions in the private affiliated colleges, a TNAU press release said. Sliding system does not apply for spot admission, it said.
Candidates who had applied, but had missed the general counselling after inclusion of names in admission list; those who did not attend certificate verification after taking part in the general counselling process; those who had received the call letter for general counselling, but did not take part; applicants for supplementary admission, despite eligibility, did not secure entry; and those who, even after admission in private colleges under management quota, desire to seek admission based on their score, were eligible to take part in the spot-admission drive;
Candidates who had not joined after securing admission in the general counselling ; and those who had discontinued after securing admission through general counselling were not eligible to take part in the spot-admission process.
The counselling fee to be collected from candidates after their admission will be ₹1,500 for SC/SCA/ST stuents, and ₹3,000 for OC category students.
The annual fee in the private affiliated colleges will range from ₹40,000 to ₹50,000 (without food and boarding expenses).
The fee levied by the private colleges under other heads would be made known by the institutions concerned. The phone numbers of the private affiliated colleges have been uploaded in http://tnau.ucanapply.com.
Vacancies will be highlighted on the screen, and students, based on their ranks, can choose the colleges and courses.
After filling seats based on marks and roster system, a waiting list will be readied, if required, the TNAU release said.
Students are not guaranteed admission until they receive the call letters. College-wise vacancies will be notified in the website on September 23, and updated from time to time.
