In view of visit of President Droupadi Murmu, the Hyderabad Traffic Police issued an advisory on temporary traffic stoppages and diversions at several key junctions across the city between December 17 and 22.
According to the advisory issued by Hyderabad Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) D. Joel Davis, vehicular movement may be halted briefly or diverted along VIP and VVIP routes during specific time windows on multiple days, as the President undertakes official movements within the city.
On December 17, traffic restrictions are expected between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. along the stretch connecting Hakimpet Air Force Station Y Junction, Bollarum Check Post, Kowkoor Road, Risala Bazaar, Lakadawala, Down Town, Alwal T Junction, Lothukunta, Lal Bazaar, Trimulgherry X Roads and Karkhana, extending up to NCC.
Similar restrictions will be in place on the morning of December 19, between 9.30 a.m. and 10 a.m., affecting routes from Bison Signal and RSI Circle through Alwal, Trimulgherry and Karkhana, continuing towards Tivoli Plaza, YMCA, Sangeet and Alugaddabavi.
On December 20, traffic diversions are planned in two phases, from 3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. and again from 5 p.m. to 6.35 p.m., covering a longer corridor that includes Bison Signal, Alwal T junction, Trimulgherry X roads, Begumpet, Panjagutta flyover, Jubilee Hills check post and Road Numbers 45 and 65.
On December 21, commuters may face restrictions between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Begumpet flyover, Rasoolpura, CTO, Tivoli, Karkhana junction, Trimulgherry X roads, Alwal T junction and Bison Signal.
The final set of diversions is scheduled for December 22 between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., once again affecting routes passing through Hakimpet, Bollarum, Alwal, Trimulgherry and Karkhana.
The traffic police urged citizens to plan their travel in advance and cooperate with personnel deployed on the ground.
