TVK outlines security, logistical plans for Vijay’s December 18 meeting in Erode

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) administrative committee chief coordinator K.A. Sengottaiyan on Tuesday (December 16, 2025) said extensive arrangements, exceeding police stipulations, were being put in place for the campaign meeting to be addressed by party chief Vijay on December 18 in Erode.

Speaking to the media at the venue near the Vijayamangalam toll plaza in Perundurai taluk, he said the arrangements included the installation of 40 CCTV cameras and the provision of 40 walkie-talkies for emergency communication. As many as 24 ambulances, along with 72 doctors and 120 nurses, would be deployed at the venue.

He said drinking water would be stored in 20 tanks and distributed to attendees in bottles. Toilet facilities would be provided at 20 locations, while three fire service vehicles would be stationed at the venue.

To manage vehicular movement, parking facilities had been created, with a separate 20-acre area earmarked for two-wheelers. Sengottaiyan said the meeting was being organised with exceptional security arrangements and would set a benchmark for public meetings in the State.

He added that the police had informed the party that 1,500 personnel would be deployed for security duty. The gathering is expected to draw around 10,000 party cadres and 25,000 members of the public, with no passes or QR codes required for entry.

He said the police would decide the timing for allowing party workers and the public into the venue on the day of the event. A total of 14 exit routes had been arranged to ensure smooth dispersal after the meeting. He also said that no separate area had been set aside for a formal welcome to Mr. Vijay.
