Residents and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) cadre staged a dharna in Dharmapuri on Monday as miscreants damaged the banners that were installed for welcoming VCK leader Thol. Thirumavalavan.
On Sunday, the VCK leader came to Pappireddipatti in Dharmapuri to attend former Minister P. Palaniappan’s family marriage. To welcome their leader, VCK cadre installed banners at Thindalanoor near Kadathur with photos of Mr. Thirumavalavan and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. On Sunday night, miscreants damaged these banners.
On Monday morning, the VCK cadre and the public staged a dharna at the spot. On information, Kadathur police came and spoke with the protesters and assured them they would take action against the miscreants following which they dispersed.
