The Bandepalya police have arrested two wall painters from Uttar Pradesh (U.P.), who along with their associates, bludgeoned a 30-year-old labourer to death in Bengaluru over a row stemming from an alleged illicit affair on Thursday.
The two accused have been identified as Satish Yadav and Arun Yadav. The prime accused, Birendra Yadav, however, is still on the run. Efforts are on to track him down, the police said.
According to the police, the deceased Shailesh Yadav and the accused are natives of Gorakhpur, U.P., who were working as daily wage labourers in the city. Shaliesh met the accused after joining work a few days ago. However, things took a turn for the worse when he started bragging about his illicit affair with the sister-in-law of Birendra.
Enraged, Birendra decided to kill Shailesh, and roped in Satish and Arun for the job. As per the plan, the trio invited him for a drinking party at Satish’s rented room. After a couple of drinks, the accused attacked Shailesh with a wooden log and bludgeoned him to death.
The accused later called the police and claimed that Shailesh died after slipped in inebriated state. The police rushed to the spot, shifted the body, and filed a report of unnatural death. However, post mortem report revealed that his death was due to haemorrhage caused after a head injury. Based on the report, the police picked up Satish and Arun, who reportedly confessed to the crime.
