Hyderabad Collector Harichandana Dasari has directed district health officials to implement stringent measures to prevent the spread of tuberculosis (TB) and ensure quality treatment for affected individuals. Addressing a review meeting with medical officers on Wednesday, she laid out a 100-day action plan aimed at intensifying screening, awareness, and care.
The collector announced that Hyderabad district will undertake over 3,000 X-ray screenings over the next 100 days, beginning Thursday. The goal is to identify TB cases early and provide uninterrupted treatment.
“TB is not a fatal disease if diagnosed early and treated consistently,” the collector said. She also ordered medical officers to conduct regular field visits, ensure punctuality and keep close tabs on food supply contractors. “If contractors fail to deliver food items on time, immediate action must be taken and fresh tenders invited,” she added.
