President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday inaugurated a new cancer care centre in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, which will serve as a one-stop centre for cancer diagnosis, treatment, and long-term care.

“During the visit, the President witnessed the state-of-the-art facilities and interacted with the patients,” said a post on the President’s official ‘X’ handle.

The new centre will also offer medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation therapy, and day-care chemotherapy. “The Centre has the most advanced diagnostic, therapeutic, and after-care services for all types of cancer cases,” said Dr. Ajay Swaroop, the hospital’s Chairperson.

The hospital said that the President’s presence marked a recognition of the institution’s legacy of delivering ethical, affordable, and high-quality healthcare for over seven decades.
