Balak Ram Negi assumed charge as the Divisional Railway Manager of Tiruchi Division here on Wednesday. He succeeds M. S. Anbalagan who had completed his two-year tenure.

Mr. Negi is a 1996 batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Engineers. His previous roles include Joint Director/ Safety, Railway Board, General Manager (Projects and Business Development) at Rail Land Development Authority, Chief General Manager, IRCON and Project Director/ IRCON for the Bullet Train project. 

Mr. Negi brings with him vast experience in mega infrastructure project planning and execution including the flagship Mumbai – Ahmedabad Bullet Train project and developing the tracks for India’s first semi-high speed train – the Gatiman Express (New Delhi – Agra). 

A sports enthusiast, Mr. Negi holds a Black Belt (2nd DAN) in Shito – Ryu Karate certified by the Karate Association of India. He is a qualified national-level judge and referee in Karate and also serves as the Honorary Chairman of the Kickboxing Karate Association, Delhi, a press release from the Tiruchi Division said.
