Madurai DPO gets automated external defibrillator device

Madurai District Police Office has got an automated external defibrillator, a small electronic device, which could diagnose cardiac arrest and help give electric shock to treat it.

The device was donated by Meenakshi Mission Hospital to the DPO which was received by Superintendent of Police B.K. Arvind. The user-friendly device could be used even by those who are not trained to use it. Upon using this device, it increases the chance of saving the life of the affected persons by 85%.

A statement said that Madurai DPO was the first police office in the State to get the device.

A motiviational speaker P.R. Subash Chandran conducted a stress-buster programme for the police officers and men on the occasion.
