The Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasabha (ABRSM) on Saturday urged Vice-Chancellor of Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, B. Anitha to include regular faculty members from government colleges in the Board of Studies (BoS) committees.
A delegation of ABRSM called on the Vice-Chancellor and emphasised the vital role of regular faculty members in framing syllabi that align with student needs and the current curriculum.
The BOS committees are academic bodies responsible for the curriculum and academic standards of specific courses or departments within an institution. They play a crucial role in developing, reviewing, and updating course content, ensuring academic quality and relevance, they said.Â
The delegation included its State additional secretary G. Rajasekar, Anantapur district president B. Nagabushanam, member J. Ramesh and others.
They also requested for prompt release of pending arrears related to allowances of former BoS committee members. They insisted that service associations should be consulted while framing the academic calendar to ensure transparency and inclusivity.
The ABRSM leaders suggested that the responsibility of appointing examiners for final internship evaluations be entrusted to the respective subject BoS. They also advocated increased remuneration for staff participating in spot evaluation duties, and guideship allotment to the faculty members teaching UG honours programmes
The Vice-Chancellor assured them that the issues raised would be examined on a priority basis and appropriate measures would be taken at the earliest.
