Collector R. Sukumar inspected infrastructure development works in Ambasamudram taluk in Tirunelveli district on Tuesday.

While inspecting the construction of free houses at Therkku Paappaankulam, Mr. Sukumar urged the officials to expedite the construction so as to ensure the handing over of the houses at the earliest to the beneficiaries. As 29 houses in the apartment built at Keezha Paappaankulam had been allotted to the beneficiaries, the officials were instructed to handover the dwellings to the allottees.

He also completed the scrutiny of applications for the houses for handover of allotment orders.

At Kallidaikurichi Primary Health Centre, the Collector checked the stocks of medicines and the records and interacted with the patients there. The houses being built under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme were also inspected at Vellankuzhi.

In Tenkasi district, Collector A.K. Kamal Kishore inspected the development works at Kadayanallur panchayat union. After visiting the anganwadi at Achchanpudhur, where the Collector checked records, the students’ strength and the drinking water and toilet facilities, the Collector went to the Adi Dravida Students’ Hostel and the agriculture extension centre.

He also inspected the deep borewell sinking work at Neduvayal and classroom construction at Government Higher Secondary School, Vadakarai and the Government Higher Secondary School at Paimpozhil.

Mr. Kamal Kishore instructed the officials to complete the construction of the overhead tank at Vaavaanagaram.
