South Central Railway’s (SCR) gross originating revenue of ₹5,219 crore, freight loading of 37.41 million tonnes, freight revenue of ₹3,457.33 crore and ₹1,485.21 crore from passenger segment registered from April to June of the current fiscal is the best ever in any financial year during the same period.
The gross originating revenue during the period is 1.2% more than the previous best of ₹5,156 crore registered during 2024-25. A highest ever freight loading of 37.41 million tonnes which is 4% higher than the previous best of 35.89 MTs loaded in 2024-25 last year has also been achieved.
The zone has transported 37.41 MTs of freight commodities, which is 1.52 MTs more than the last year freight loading in the same period (35.89 MTs). About 865 trips of special trains where 11.18 lakh passengers were carried through these trains during the first quarter of the current fiscal and this has led to passenger revenue of 2% more than the last year of ₹1,455.15 crore, said a press release.
