Andhra Pradesh State Women’s Commission Chairperson Rayapati Shailaja has said the NDA government is committed to protecting the rights of women. “The government is committed to rendering swift justice to the victims, regardless of their political affiliation, and it has given full freedom to the police to act strictly against offenders,” Ms. Shailaja said during her visit to Eluru district on Thursday.
She said the commission was actively working to empower women and prevent various crimes, including domestic violence, harassment, trafficking, dowry abuse, cybercrimes, kidnappings, and child marriages. She directed the officials to conduct awareness programmes at the grassroot level.
Regional Joint Director of Women and Child Welfare Department B. Sujatha, Nodal Officer Swarajya Lakshmi, CDPO Rajasekhar, EO Mallika, Central Administrator Nirmala, Eluru Women’s Police Station inspector M. Subba Rao, and tahsildar Gayatri were present.
