Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party (JSP) founder-president K. Pawan Kalyan has advised leaders of the coalition parties (TDP, BJP and JSP) to work together on people’s issues.
Addressing a public meeting at Markapuram in Prakasam district on Friday, Mr. Pawan Kalyan sought both unity and time from the cadres of the three parties.
Advising the leaders of the NDA allies not to indulge in any revenge politics, he said, “The leaders of other political parties will try to provoke you, but do not get involved in it. To successfully implement any public policy, we need time. At least for the next 15 years, we must stay together.”
Mr. Pawan Kalyan said, “I always feel the welfare of people is more important over our party and alliance. I understand the anger, pain and suffering of the youth in Prakasam district. Due to lack of industries and employment opportunities, the youth have been migrating to other States. For the last 15 years, I couldn’t see industrialisation in the region.”
“On completion of Veligonda project, water will be available for industries as well. Job opportunities will also improve. More ₹800 crore is required for land acquisition for taking up rehabilitation and resettlement (R&R) works. Money is not a problem in the district where all political leaders have spent about ₹2,000 crore during last elections,” he observed.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan alleged that YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders had encroached the lands of Sri Lakshmi Chennakesava Swamy temple in Markapuram. He said, “The YSRCP leaders have encroached several government lands, including the lands of the Endowments Department. We have already started to recover the lands.”
He warned of strict action against those who occupy temple lands and government sites in the State.
