The Puducherry government observed the death anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister Jagjivan Ram and the 125th birth anniversary of former Minister and Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on Sunday.
An entourage led by Speaker R. Selvam, Deputy Speaker P. Rajavelu, S. Selvaganabathy, MP, A.K. Sai, J. Saravanan Kumar, former Minister, paid floral tributes to the statue of the formery Deputy PM located at Lawspet.
At the Pondicherry Municipality hall, Lt Governor K. Kailashnathan, Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, Speaker, Sharat Chauhan, Chief Secretary and others paid floral tributes to the portrait of Dr. Mukherjee.
The dignitaries also visited a photo exhibition organised on the occasion.
