A Taiwanese delegation led by Stephen S.C. Hsu, Director-General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in Chennai, visited Auroville to explore potential collaboration opportunities and experience the township’s unique approach to education and sustainable living.
Following a visit to the Matrimandir, the delegation, which also included Tsai Ming Shunn and Chao Chang Lunch, headed to the Sri Aurobindo Institute of Integral Education and Research (SAIIER), a press note said.
The Taiwanese team was briefed by SAIIER’s Li Jun and Sanjeev Ranganathan about Auroville’s educational philosophy, Sri Aurobindo’s vision, and SAIIER’s innovative approaches to advancing education for both teachers and students.
The discussion also focused on technological innovation and potential collaboration opportunities, especially given Taiwan’s advanced semiconductor industry. The conversation explored synergies with Auroville’s STEM LAND unit, which specialises in designing electronic chips for advanced programming and power distribution motherboards, the press note said.
Mr. Hsu expressed keeness to develop partnerships between Taiwan and Auroville, in fields such as education, technology, and sustainable development, the press note said.
