As the Korutla police have intensified investigation into the brutal murder of a five-year-old girl, the daughter of a Gulf migrant worker, in Korutla town of Jagtial district on Saturday (July 5, 2025) evening, a woman, believed to be a close relative of the victim, emerged as the prime suspect in the ghastly crime.
The girl, a resident of Adarshnagar, was found murdered with her throat slit open in the bathroom of a locked house in the same locality late on Saturday evening.
The incident sparked outrage among the local residents, prompting demands for harshest punishment to the perpetrators of the ghastly murder.
The girl was playing with other children when she went missing in the evening. Her body was found in a pool of blood inside the bathroom on the premises of a neighbouring house two hours later, sources said.
Police suspect the role of a close relative of the victim behind the brutal murder. A family dispute is believed to be the possible motive behind the grisly crime.
The Korutla police have been trying to piece together clues based on the CCTV footage in the locality to unravel the murder mystery.
