Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said on Wednesday (July 9, 2025) that when he retired, he would dedicate his time to studying theVedas and Upanishads and engaging in natural farming.
Mr. Shah mentioned this at the ‘Sahkar Samvad’ held in Ahmedabad on Wednesday (July 9, 2025) with women associated with the cooperative sectors of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. The meeting was part of several programmes being organised under the International Year of Cooperatives 2025.
Addressing the meeting, the Minister said that the foundation stone of “Tribhuvan” Sahkari University was laid in Anand district in the name of Tribhuvandas Patel, who laid the foundation of cooperative in the true sense, due to which today 36 lakh women of Gujarat were doing business worth ₹80,000 crore.
He said the government was bringing a lot of changes in the dairy sector, and in the coming days, the cooperative dairies would focus on the management of cow dung, food and health of animals, and take measures to increase income by using cow dung.
He said that natural farming was a scientific practice which offered many benefits. “Eating food produced without use of fertilizers and chemicals will keep you away from doctors and medicines. Apart from this, production increases with natural farming,” he said.
