A journalist of a private television channel was reportedly injured after some cadres of MDMK roughed him up at the party meeting of southern region held here on Wednesday night.
A video clipping showed that the party general secretary Vaiko, while addressing the cadres, noticed the cameraman shooting the empty chairs in the meeting hall, and shouted at him.
He asked him to leave the hall. Mr. Vaiko was also heard instructing his cadres to snatch the camera.
Subsequently, in the melee, the cameraman sustained injury on his forehead.
Sattur MLA, A.R.R. Raghuraman, tried to pacify the journalist. The injured journalist was taken to Government hospital in Sattur.
