GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg on Friday (August 1, 2025) inspected the site proposed for the construction of a working women’s hostel, which will be set up with the Central government funding.
Mr. Garg, along with the GVMC officials, inspected sites near Andhra Bank Colony at Kommadi Junction in Madhurawada and at Pineapple Colony in Mudasarlova.
He said that the Central government had sanctioned funds for three working women’s hostels in the city and the sites for these projects are being identified in Madhurawada, Mudasarlova, and Auto Nagar in Gajuwaka. The construction work will be undertaken under the supervision of Greater Visakhapatnam Smart City Corporation Limited (GVSCCL).
The Municipal Commissioner enquired about the number of boarders living in the working women’s hostels in the city. Engineering officials explained about the land availability, proposed building model, and other related aspects to Mr. Garg.
Zonal Commissioner K. Kanakamahalakshmi, Supervising Engineer K.V.N. Ravi, Smart City Corporation Manager Mr. Anand, and others accompanied the GVMC Commissioner.
