GHMC standing committee clears 14 proposals

The standing committee of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has cleared a proposal for purchase of 139 special food containers for Indiramma Canteens, at an expenditure of ₹5.89 crore, and branding of the existing 11 canteens. It has also fixed the price of breakfast to be supplied at ₹5 per plate at the canteens in the city at ₹19, with GHMC bearing the remaining ₹14.

The Hare Krishna Mission, which is presently carrying out the ₹5 per meal scheme of the GHMC, will be the agency through which breakfast will be provided. Annually, the breakfast scheme will cost the civic body ₹15.33 crore.

The committee cleared a total of 14 proposals, among which is one to repair and maintain the tank bund of Saroornagar Lake at a cost of ₹5.6 crore.

Widening and development of the road between Shastripuram and Inner Ring Road at a cost of ₹4.95 crore, giving out the maintenance of sports arena beneath the Kaithalapur flyover, delegation of certain powers form the GHMC Commissioner to the Additional and Zonal Commissioners among others, were the proposals given a nod by the committee.
