The Income Tax Department has not sent any notice to Eknath Shinde’s son Srikanth Shinde, according to sources in the know. Several publications had on Thursday (July 10, 2025) reported that Srikanth Shinde had received an income tax notice.
According to the sources, the government recently executed its Computer-Assisted Scrutiny Selection (CASS) for the income tax returns filed for assessment year 2024-25.
“Under the CASS cycle, the cases are selected for scrutiny without any human intervention and on the basis of certain predefined risk parameters,” the source explained. “Therefore, the notices have been triggered under the CASS cycle on account of the case being covered by applicable risk parameters particularly on exemptions.”
As per the process, the replies and further communication will be taken up under the Faceless Assessment Scheme of the Income Tax Department.
“It may also kindly be noted no notice has been issued to Shri. Srikanth Shinde, son of Shri. Eknath Shinde,” the source clarified.
