Five districts of Telangana were forecast to receive heavy rainfall on Tuesday (August 26, 2025). And thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are likely in 24 districts. 

India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its bulletin issued on Monday afternoon has predicted heavy rainfall at isolated places in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mahabubabad, Mulugu, and Warangal.

Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places in Adilabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Hanumakonda, Hyderabad, Jagtial, Jangaon, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Karimnagar, Khammam, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mahabubabad, Mancherial, Medchal Malkajgiri, Mulugu, Nalgonda, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Peddapalli, Rajanna Sircilla, Rangareddy, Siddipet, Suryapet, Warangal, and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri.

Strong Surface winds (30-40 kmph) are very likely in Jogulamba Gadwal, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Medak, Nagarkurnool, Narayanpet, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, and Wanaparthy.

A low-pressure area formed over northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast on Monday midnight (12.00 a.m.). It is likely to move west-northwestward and become more marked during the next two days, as per IMD
