‘Coolie’: Pooja Hegde sizzles with Soubin Shahir in second song ‘Monica’ from Rajinikanth starrer

The makers of Cooliereleased the second song from the upcoming Rajinikanth starrer. Titled ‘Monica’, the song features Pooja Hegde and Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir.

The highly-anticipated movie is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and bankrolled by Sun Pictures. The pan-Indian film is set to hit the screens on August 14, 2025.

The peppy number begins with a mention of the popular Italian actor Monica Bellucci. Set against the backdrop of a port, Pooja Hegde sizzles in the dance track amid a group of men and cargo ships.

Sung by Sublahshini, Anirudh Ravichander and rapper Asal Kolar, ‘Monica’ also has Soubin Shahir showing his movies in an energetic fashion. The Malayalam actor is part of an ensemble cast, which includes Upendra, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Shruti Haasan and Sathyaraj.

Anirudh has composed the music for Coolie, which is said to be a standalone movie and not part of Lokesh’s celebrated Lokesh Cinematic Universe. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is shooting for Jailer 2, a sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.

Meanwhile, the makers of Coolie released the first song in December 2024. Released on Rajinikanth’s birthday, the catchy song, titled ‘Chikitu’, has vocals from veteran T Rajender and rapper Arivu, who has also written the song.
