HYDERABAD

Incessant rain in Hyderabad from Friday (July 18, 2025) afternoon disrupted power supply in the areas served by about 270 feeders. It was restored within half-an-hour in the areas under about 200 feeders.

According to Chairman and Managing Director of the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd (TGSPDCL) Md. Musharraf Faruqui, it took a couple of hours time in restoring power supply under the remaining feeders.

But, the power supply was yet to be restored till 8 p.m. in some localities in Ameerpet, Malakpet, Habsiguda, Ramnagar and a few other areas due to technical problems in transformers. It was restored by 9 p.m. in some areas, while in some other areas it was yet to be restored. He instructed the field level staff of the Discom to resolve complaints registered till distribution transformer level.

He said that 212 GPS-enabled autos and 101 emergency response teams were kept ready to meet emergency situations and restore power supply in the shortest possible time. People may call on 1912 or to the local fuse-off-call offices on matters related to power supply disruption.
