Delhi University (DU) released its first list of seat allocations for undergraduate (UG) programmes for the 2025-26 academic session on Saturday, with 93,166 allocations against 71,624 seats, an official said.

Of the total, 1,325 allocations were for supernumerary single girl child quota and 259 for the orphan quota.

According to the admission schedule, candidates can accept the allocated seat by July 21, with colleges and institutions verifying the applications by July 22. The selected students are expected to pay the fees by July 23.

The vacant seats, if any, will reflect on the university’s dashboard on July 24 and aspiring students can select their preferences by July 25.

The second list of seat allocations will be announced on July 28, and students have to pay the fees by August 1.

The university had earlier said that it may announce additional lists, subject to the availability of seats.

Like last year, the university has allocated more seats than it offered. The official said extra allocations were made, taking into consideration that some students will not take admission.

The university plans to begin the new academic session on August 1, the official added.
